We know that oxygen is vital and necessary for life. Oxygen, when delivered in high concentrations under pressure, or by using hydrogen peroxide to generate oxygen, can have beneficial effects on our health. When these modalities are used in the healing process, we refer to them as Oxidative Therapy.
Oxidation is a chemical process carried out in living cells in which energy is produced by utilizing oxygen. This process of oxidation plays a significant role in fending off infections. White blood cells use oxidation as a defense against bacteria disease causing viruses, yeasts and other parasites. Oxidative Therapy is the application of the principles of oxidation in bringing about improvements in bodily function.
When hydrogen peroxide, is exposed to blood or other body fluids, catalase, an enzyme in our tissue, causes a chemical reaction that produces oxygen and water. A small amount of hydrogen peroxide can supply large amounts of oxygen to the tissue. Hydrogen peroxide can be delivered by vein or thru inhalation of vapor. It should not be ingested.
Intravenous use of Hydrogen Peroxide was first published by Dr. T.H. Oliver in the British Medical Journal (Lancet) in 1920. The use of hydrogen peroxide injections, to generate oxygen in the body, has been studied at many major medical research centers throughout the world.A dilute amount of hydrogen peroxide is given by vein slowly over an hour. Complications can include inflammation and scaring of the vein.
Many theories exist about the different effects of oxidative therapy in the body and there is a great deal of scientific interest in its use. Scientists are discovering the function of hydrogen peroxide and hyperbaric oxygen in the body is far more complex and important than previously realized.
Oxidative Therapy has been reported to have varying degrees of success in the treatment of the following conditions or diseases:
Heart and Blood Vessel Diseases:
- Peripheral Vascular Disease (poor circulation)
- Cerebral Vascular Disease (stroke)
- Cardiovascular Disease (heart disease)
- Coronary Spasm (angina)
- Gangrene of fingers and toes
- Reynard’s Syndrome
- Temporal Arteritis
- Vascular and Cluster Headaches
- Heart Arrhythmias
- Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD)
- Chronic bronchitis
- Herpes Zoster (shingles)
- Systemic Chronic Candidiasis (candida)
- Chronic Fatigue Syndrome
- HIV infections
- Acute and Chronic Viral Infections
- Chronic Unresponsive Bacterial Infections
- Multiple Sclerosis
- Rheumatoid Arthritis
- Diabetes Mellitus type II
- Migraine Headache
- Chronic Pain Syndrome
Physicians and scientists from around the world constantly share knowledge and experience and the list of uses for Oxidative Therapy is growing every day. Hydrogen peroxide is a substance produced and used in our body’s bio-chemistry. It s has many applications in health and healing.
